Lynda Stewart hit the 9th green on two occasions and couldn’t secure her birdie from 8 feet with her second shot only because they had to take her husbands ball, which was 35 feet from the pin. Needless to say, no birdie!!. |

January tennis round robin tournament

During January we also conducted a men’s and women’s round robin tournament over 3 rounds. Winners – Women Steph Fry (24 games) and Jillian Chapman and Sue Cox (12 games Men Simon Lindsay (24 games) and Stephen Gorenstein and Matt Hayward (each 22 games) . |

Tennis Club Championship results
24th February 2024
Singles championships were held in January for both and men and women. Winners were josh Frydenberg who defeated last years champion Matt hayward 6-0, 6-0. The women’s champion this year is Steph Fry who defeated Sue Cox 6-2, 6-4. Steph was also the 2023 champion. For more information download this document |

He not only contributes to looking after the course, but the injured wildlife as well. Early morning discovery of the injured Koala Report to the Animal Rescue group. Care for the little fella all day till the arrival of the Rescue Group. Hopefully there is a positive outcome. Well done Geoff Balderas. |

Miss Lascelles Silver Salver

The annual Miss Lascelle’s Silver Salver was held on Nov 24th - for the first time in conjunction with this year’s 60th Lorne Annual Golf Tournament. 15 teams from the SWGA competed, including one combined Lorne/Port Fairy team. Apollo Bays Vicki Philp shot a ‘Hole in One” on the 5th on her first stroke of the day! It was a great day of golf - the weather was kind and the course was in great condition . |

Working Bee news

Last Saturday saw the “usual 8” put in a combined 32 very productive hours of manpower to help prepare the course for this weekend. And further hours by volunteers during the week has the course in top shape. Geoff went missing but we found him up the pole!!!!!. |

The men’s Club Championship has been completed and Kurt Norton was the worthy winner after the three round event. A great achievement by Kurt and I’d suggest the first time we have seen a father achieve the same feat as his son did 12 months earlier - Well done Kurt!. |

Captains a winner!

LCC Golf Captain Rod Stewart and his team were victorious in securing the “Ashes”. A perpetual shield containing pieces of history from the burnt remains of our Clubhouse in 1983 which is contested each year between the Club President and Captain and their teams. A sausage sizzle and a few refreshments in the sun were the perfect end to a great day. . |

President’s V’s Captains Golf Day

The much treasured “Ashes trophy” is up for grabs tomorrow. Featuring remnants from our Clubhouse that was destroyed in the 1983 Bushfires the trophy will be contested by teams representing the Club Captain as they take on the Club President’s team. A sausage sizzle will follow and if any ladies are looking for a game they are most welcome to join in the 4 club event.. |

Winter tree work almost complete

Congratulations to Carol Tutungi, Wendy Hutchison and Sally Young they came runner up in the Anglesea Quinlin Classic with a combined score of 102 point. A great achievement as there were 28 teams in the field. Wendy was also the 2nd highest score on the day with 41 points and Sally win the longest drive.... |
