Masterplan Update March 2025

We are pleased to advise that LCC have now entered into a contract with McMahon Golf to undertake the first stage of the Masterplan prepared by Crafter & Mogford Golf course Architects.

The first stage consists of 

• Drainage works to the 3rd & 6th Fairway
• Reconstruction of th6th Green
• Construction of the new 17th Tee

McMahons Golf will commence on Monday 31st March 2025 with works associated with the drainage to the 3rd & 6th Fairways. This involves the installation of 100mm AG drains on the lower side of the fairways with Sand Slit drainage installed across the fairways at 2m centres. This will provide good drainage to the areas mostly affected during the winter months, allowing greater ball run (reducing the "plugging" of balls). These works will also allow the safer use of carts on the course during the wetter seasons.

It is anticipated these works will take approximately 2 weeks to complete and will be completed prior to the Easter break.

During this period, the club will also continue with the works associated with the construction of the new Mens 17th Tee located between the Dam and the 1st fairway.

On 28th April 2025, McMahon Golf will commence work on the replacement of the 6th Green.

These works will take approximately 4 weeks to undertake and then a further 12 weeks until the green is put back into play. In the meantime, a temporary green will be constructed on the existing Fairway at the flat area below the existing green.

It is crucial that this green is reconstructed as the existing green becomes unplayable during the winter months due to inadequate drainage due to the age of the greens.

The green will be constructed to the same layout as the existing. However, the front edge will be raised to prevent the runoff which currently exists on the existing green.   

Works which have been completed to date include

• Removal of the small overflow dam to the south side of the 1st Fairway
• Clearing and filling this area between the 1st fairway and the dam in front of the 8th Tee 
• Installation of some cart paths on 8th & 9th Tee
• Installation of signage around the course
• Installation of new hazard markers around the course
• Introduction of 4 golf carts for hire
• Conversion of the old tee box to cart store and provision of charges for carts

The stage of works to be undertaken will include 

• Provision of 3 Phase power to the clubhouse
• Installation of new cart paths to 3rd, 6th, & 7th Tee
• Lower front edge of dam wall to create better sight lines from the 8th Tee
• Make good drainage culvert into the Dam
• Make good the Access Track from behind the 9th Green down to the 8th Fairway
