LCC Easter Mixed Doubles tennis tournament

 Club’s Mixed Doubles Tournament

Lorne Country Club hosted its annual Mixed Doubles Round Robin tournament last Saturday, drawing ten enthusiastic teams to the courts for a day of spirited competition and community camaraderie. Blessed with ideal weather, the event was played across all five courts and was marked by both friendly rivalry and strong family support.

Each team competed in four 8-game sets, with players switching ends after every four games. Winners were determined based on the total number of games won, with a maximum possible score of 32 games.

Top performers on the day were:

• Women’s Division: Dani Shenfield (22 games) and Steph Fry (20 games)
• Men’s Division: David Sousa and Dean Craig, who tied for first place with 27 games each

The tournament saw excellent support from family groups, including three generations of the Craig family , highlighting the strong community spirit that defines Lorne Country Club.

After tennis, everybody participated in lunch of chicken sandwiches and fruit supplied by Suzanne Diviny and Jillian Chapman.
